Between Jake's wrestling and Nathan's basketball we have kept busy this winter- four practices during the week and each weekend one tournament and one basketball game- and Zack hasn't even started. I think we'll be in trouble with all three playing soccer. I'll be driving around like a mad woman! They are sure are cute though and their hugs, kisses, and smiles make it all worthwhile. I'm a lucky Mommy!

Zack's 4th Birthday

Zack's 4th birthday! He loved the cake and the attention, but our awesome kids' 4 wheel drive didn't go over like we thought. He was scared to death to ride on it. Maybe a bit too old for him! Opps!

80's Girls' Night at Church

Last Saturday we did an 80's girls' night at church called "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and it was fun. We drank Shasta soda and had pink cake. We played an 80's movie title game and I came in 2nd and we formed rock bands and played 80s songs on Guitar Hero. I played Bass for The Pixies. We failed and never made it through the song. It was a fun evening.

We even voted for Best Costume and Biggest Hair. Before I left the house the boys thought I looked crazy and Rich's eyes got so big the first time he saw me. I also had to go through the Fort Belvoir gate to pick up a friend. I felt the need to explain myself to the gate guard lest she think I really dress that way! It was fun just to be silly for an evening.

Blueberry TOE JAM

I have some strange kids!

This is a picture of Zack eating blueberries with his toes YUCK where did he come up with this one?! He put the blueberry in between his 1st and 2nd toes and then brought his foot up to his mouth and then ate it from there. SO GROSS! What is up with that. I have no idea what he was thinking but now that he is sick with a fever and vomiting I just wish he would get back to his weird little self.

Happy Ground Hogs' Day! Looks like we have 6 more weeks of winter- bummer. But it was 60 degrees yesterday and today is 50 so I can handle that kind of winter.

These are the cupcakes I made for Nathan's kindergarten class- aren't they silly? I did them two years ago for Jake's kindergarten class and it was much easier/faster this time. I learned a few shortcuts.

We let the boys stay up and watch the Superbowl, but made them take long naps after church so they wouldn't be grumpy. They all did fine and even had super bowl veggie and meat and cheese trays for dinner. We had fun cheering on the teams and it was a great game! Jake, Rich and I were for the Steelers since we are going to be living in PA next year and Nathan and Zack weren't sure what Steelers were so the rooted for Arizona. They would cheer "Let's go, Birds!" They never called them Cardinals. It was really cute.

Gotta hit the showers now. I've recovered from my workout now- I was almost in tears on the way home from the gym. It was a tough one today.

Snow days

The boys had 3 1/2 days off school this week- two teacher workdays (euphemistically called "student holidays", one snow day, and a two-hour delay. This meant they only went to school for part of Thursday and all of Friday.

Also Awana and all sports were cancelled Tues- Thurs. They had quite the week- making snowman, sledding down our front yard, snow ball fights, hot chocolate, board games, a gingerbread house (we never had time at Christmas to build it so now it's a Valentine's house) and just goofing off in general.

Wanted to try posting photos to my blog to see how that goes. And so my mom will get her photo fix. So here goes nothing...
